At the bottom right of the screen is a button. Click it then click the auto/manual attack button. It is on manual when there is only one sword. Then attack "preferable" a black wolf with a weapon until its health (which you can view by highlighting the red bar under its name) is about half gone. Switch to your fists and weaken it to about 15-10 HP. Right-click the skill "Tame". This sometimes will not work. The HP remaining differs with the animal you are trying to tame.
